THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN
GET GAS BACK DOWN TO $2.00 PER GALLON.

This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his
engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired of the gas
prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to
read this PLEASE.

Phillip Goldsworthy offered this good idea. This makes MUCH MORE SENSE
than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around
last April or May! It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!

Well, it has finally happened, $ 4.00 a gallon, and we know that it will go
higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down?

We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just
laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves
by refusing to buy gas.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take
action. We need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control
the marketplace...not sellers.

The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit
someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that
WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from
the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL.

If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their
prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow
suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and
Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do!

I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least ten
more (30 x 10 = 300) .. and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10
= 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of
people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers. If those three
million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million
people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION
PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all!

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten
more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could
conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!!

Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we
not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE
AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

Keep it going

%This automatically assumes it is the oil companies raising the prices,
which is wrong. The oil companies do not control world oil markets. In
fact, most of the oil produced are controlled by nation states,
including OPEC, who determine how much oil is produced. Oil consumption
is rising at twice the rate of supply, meaning supply is worth more and
more. The only way to reverse this is to increase supply, or reduce
demand. Since the latter is not going to happen in the foreseeable
future, the only answer is to increase supply. But this is not going to
happen either because most of our oil reserves are off limits to the oil
companies. Who set these limits you might ask? The government,
specifically Democrats, who not only continue to block production of
known reserves, but also block the oil companies from searching for more
reserves.

The best action we could take is to rise up against liberal and
socialist policy makers and force heads to roll. Unfortunately, it seems
that in answer to a problem they caused, they will be rewarded by being
re-elected to office. Obama, McCain, neither will improve the situation,
and their stated policies toward both energy, and those who produce it,
will serve to make the problem much worse.

Actually, all the refined gas and diesel come out of the same tanks.
This would do nothing to affect the price of gas. all it would do is
hurt one of our most productive corporations hurting both investors and
employees. The same gas would be sold by other distributors for the same
price. This is public information, look it up.

The only way this works is if demand worldwide was reduced, and not just
that supplied by Exxon. It would be to be all fuel, in every country,
supplied by every supplier. Accomplish, and you may, I say may, have an
affect. Otherwise, all your doing is barking up the wrong tree.

More effective, would be a march on Washington, to demand immediate
relaxation of regulations on oil producers and areas in which they may
seek more reserves. Also, a relaxation on the EPA hoops required for a
company to build more refining capacity would have to be a major staple
of any future energy policy to eliminate the not in my back yard
mentality that seems to permeate the country.

And this march should demand the heads, literally, of every politician
who ever voted against energy production and research, of both parties,
despite people warning them for the past two decades of the results of
their actions. This would have an immediate impact, one based in
reality.

I ws wondering when someone would blame the liberals for high gas
prices! Dam they must be the sole evil in all the world today. If you
could put your prejudice aside and really examine the issue not from a
political bias that you so obviously posses, then you would be more
apt to truely understand the price structure.

You are correct in that prices are set by supply and demand. You also
have to realize is that oil is also traded asa commodity onworld
markets and people are bidding on the price of oil to keep going up.
Part of this is fueled by the beleif that we have reached the "Peak
Oil" point. That is oil production levels have or are very near the
peak level that the planet can sustain. If this theory is true, and as
demand increases, prices will continue to escallate even if we try to
increase production. If the Peak Oil Theory is correct then we have
used up more oil than the Earth has left. In that case increase
drilling and production will only speed up the end of oil production.

Part is also allowing oil to be traded as a commodity. The potential
of Peak Oil has to influence trading practices. Oil producing nations
can set back and watch the commodity traders bid for prices and sell
to whom they wish for what price they want. Right now oil commodity
trading is liken to a eating frenzy by sharks. Grab what you can at
what ever price is on the board.

So go ahead and blame the liberals for all our woes and then stick you
head in the sand when and if Peak Oil is a valid theory. If so, then
increased production will only temporarily reduce oil prices before
they go back up. When they do go back up, hold onto your wallets. If
Peak Oil Theory does pan out as correct by about 2016 to 2020 look to
be paying over a $1000 a barrel for oil. Currently I think oil will
hit $200 a barrel before the end of 2008. By 2012 somewhere in the
$500 a barrel range. As long as speculators are allowed to influence
the price of oil, the price will rise and rise without bounds until we
cure ourselves of the addiction for oil. MAybe $100 dollar a gallon
for gasoline maybe the point where we finally realize that we have an
addiction problem and then seek to remedy that.

Also remember that about half of oil production is used to power our
vehicles. As oil prices increase the cost of clothes, home heating,
electricity and medicine as well as the convenience of plastic storage
containers will escallate in price. The worst has yet to come if Peak
Oil is true and we keep on our addiction.

Exxon/Mobil isn't the largest oil company. Royal Dutch Shell and British

I ws wondering when someone would blame the liberals for high gas
prices!
Lay blame where it belongs I always say. It is the liberals who want to
regulate everything and every aspect of life. It is the liberals who
believe the answer to every problem lies in the hands of the government.
Yet, there is not one single program that the government gets involved
with, whether it is health care or energy production, or even employment
programs, that does not eventually cause the perceived ill to become
much worse than would have been otherwise without their intervention.
Our energy production is just one example. You cannot limit production,
which liberals advocate, without rising costs. For them to then blame
the "evil oil companies" or "Peak oil" for the result shows how
misguided their policies really are.
Post by james
Dam they must be the sole evil in all the world today.
Pretty much. Taking away peoples god given liberties, whether in work or
play, is evil...period. The government has no business saying where and
how an energy production company may function or how much profit it can
make in the process.
Post by james
If you
could put your prejudice aside and really examine the issue not from a
political bias that you so obviously posses, then you would be more
apt to truely understand the price structure.
I understand price structure just fine, You obviously do not. As you
will see in a moment.
Post by james
You are correct in that prices are set by supply and demand.
Exactly, and it is all you really need to know, as it applies both to
the spot oil price and the future oil price. The future price continues
to climb because traders, and companies who rely on fuel to run their
businesses, buy the future contracts at a price they feel will be a
bargain when the contract is exercised at some future date. They use the
futures market to try and spread their risk over a broader period of
time hoping to actually reduce their overall risk. So there is great
demand for the futures contracts and that is what drives the speculation
prices upward. The spot oil price is separate from the futures price.
While the futures contract price can go one direction, demand could rise
or fall in the actual spot oil market meaning that the spot prices
could, and usually do go the opposite direction of the futures market,
meaning that spot prices could tailspin at any time leaving speculators
holding the bag. This will eventually happen because the higher priced
oil will encourage more production increasing supply. The point here is,
while it is convenient for liberals to blame the capitalists for what
they themselves have caused, it still does not de couple the laws of
supply and demand.
Post by james
You also
have to realize is that oil is also traded asa commodity onworld
markets and people are bidding on the price of oil to keep going up.
That is correct. But demand is growing at twice the rate of supply and
that makes oil much more valuable in any market.
Post by james
Part of this is fueled by the beleif that we have reached the "Peak
Oil" point. That is oil production levels have or are very near the
peak level that the planet can sustain. If this theory is true, and as
demand increases, prices will continue to escallate even if we try to
increase production.
The difference between peak oil theory and our current reality though is
currently, peak oil is being artificially created by government policies
which restrict production. The peak oil theory you speak of is just a
theory. Now while I agree that at some point this will happen without
Seeking out and using other energy sources, there are estimated to be
close to a TRILLION barrels of untapped oil reserves, enough to supply
all our energy needs for a century or more, which would give us plenty
of time to find and develop new energy sources.
Post by james
If the Peak Oil Theory is correct then we have
used up more oil than the Earth has left.
The earth continues to produce oil as it is a natural process caused by
heat from the core and organic material. In fact, there is so much oil
underground it seeps out of the ocean floor into the ocean and
dissipates Now while it may not produce at current levels of usage,
there is more than enough supply to keep us going at reasonable prices
until nuclear, solar, and hydrogen technologies can become more cost
efficient and plentiful, without the help of ggovernment. In fact, come
to think of it, I heard of a new technology just a few days ago that
takes fast and efficient growing seaweed and converts it to oil. So as
time goes on, technology increases along with new sources of energy
would more than supplement oil supplies and could one day replace it all
together.
Post by james
In that case increase
drilling and production will only speed up the end of oil production.
Yes, this is convenient reason to justify causing hardships all around
the world and passing blame.
Post by james
Part is also allowing oil to be traded as a commodity. The potential
of Peak Oil has to influence trading practices. Oil producing nations
can set back and watch the commodity traders bid for prices and sell
to whom they wish for what price they want.
This points back to my earlier statement that most of the oil is
controlled by nation states. But they can only affect production levels,
not who they sell to on the world market. Again, you do not, obviously,
understand how commodity markets work.
Post by james
Right now oil commodity
trading is liken to a eating frenzy by sharks. Grab what you can at
what ever price is on the board.
Because of reduced supply, increased demand, and government restrictions
against exploration and production.
Post by james
So go ahead and blame the liberals for all our woes and then stick you
head in the sand when and if Peak Oil is a valid theory. If so, then
increased production will only temporarily reduce oil prices before
they go back up.
The key word here is "if". Nobody is sticking their head in the sand.
But I would like to point out that is is liberal policies that stopped
our nuclear industry in it's tracks despite the industries excellent
safety record. It is liberal policies that prevent construction of
refineries, power plants, both of new and old technology. It is liberal
policies that prevent exploration and production of petroleum. It is
liberal policies that takes funding away from the industrial complex
that does the research into new technologies so they then give it to
those who are unproductive in our society so they can cement their power
and buy their votes.
Post by james
When they do go back up, hold onto your wallets. If
Peak Oil Theory does pan out as correct by about 2016 to 2020 look to
be paying over a $1000 a barrel for oil. Currently I think oil will
hit $200 a barrel before the end of 2008.
Well gosh, what a prophetic statement this is! The price of oil has
doubled just since the democratic congress has come to
power...coincidence? Nope, they push to punish producers all the while
preventing them from doing anything about the supply problem.
Post by james
By 2012 somewhere in the

cure ourselves of the addiction for oil. MAybe $100 dollar a gallon

The free market would do this all by itself, without the intervention of

You're right, the worst is yet to come, but unfortunately it wont be
because of peak oil, it will be because of government policies set by
men who have no clue how to produce anything.
